As the first identity service to prove ‘you are who you say you are’ purely online, miiCard – my Internet Identity – is a catalyst for change. A user-centric federated identity that sits between the consumer and vendor (or another consumer) miiCard provides a new level of trust that will change the way we transact online.
While other digital ID services prove something about you, such as your address or credit rating, miiCard proves ‘you are actually you’ to the level of authority of an offline passport, driving license or photo ID, purely online.
miiCard solves the issue of trust and proof of identity online for a range of industries including financial services, trading, dating, gambling and social networking. For users, miiCard provides a safer, faster and more convenient way to transact and trust online.
With reports of identity theft and Internet fraud on the rise we’re well placed for being part of the solution with our beta launch in early November. We’re using KickoffLabs to drive sign-ups and referrals for miiCard.
People who are passionate and really believe in what they’re doing inspire us. Our CEO James Varga is one of those guys. He was struck by the ever-present puzzle of how to prove identity online to make the buying and selling of financial products faster and easier and came up with miiCard. James has built up a small yet powerful team dedicated to bringing this solution to the marketplace and helping to create trust on the Internet.
Remember your customers are key. Always think about what you are doing and saying from the point-of-view of the customer. Talk to them, engage and nurture them like you do the office pot plants and they too will grow.
miiCard startup tips:
Keep focused but remain flexible – you know where you need to end up, but understand the road to success will most likely take some unexpected twists and turns.
Test, test, test – everything. The product/application, the website, the marketing messages, the answering machine. Never assume something just works. Prove it.
Watch and learn from others. Keep asking questions and always strive to do better.
Keep your sense of humour. It’s important to enjoy what you’re doing and have a laugh.
